The 2025 Shenzhen Brain Expo kicks off, and the Greater Bay Area Brain Science and Central Nervous Disease AI Innovation Alliance is established
28 Sep, 2025
The "2025 Shenzhen Brain Expo" is jointly organized by the Shenzhen Brain Science Society, the Science and Technology Transformation and Innovation Working Committee of the Chinese Neuroscience Society, the Shenzhen Hong Kong Brain Science Innovation Research Institute, Shenzhen University of Technology, the Shenzhen Brain Science Technology Industry Innovation Center, and the Brain Analysis and Brain Simulation Major Science and Technology Infrastructure. The conference will last for three days and will continue until December 30th.
The Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Greater Bay Area Brain Science and Central Nervous Disease AI Innovation Alliance has been established
1.16 billion yuan neuroscience industry fund landing and signing
At the opening ceremony of the conference on the afternoon of August 28, researcher Wang Liping, director of the Institute of Brain Science of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Shenzhen Institute of Advanced Technology, and president of the Shenzhen Hong Kong Institute of Brain Science Innovation, on behalf of the academic and industrial circles, released the country's first "Brain Science and Brain Computer Interface Development Technology for Good Initiative". The initiative proposes that safety ethics and social values are the premise and foothold of technological innovation. This initiative directly faces the "meta problem" of the development of neuroscience and the brain computer interface industry. At a time when global ethical rules for brain computer interfaces have not yet taken shape, it actively contributes Chinese wisdom and Shenzhen thinking to establish a value baseline and strategic map for the healthy development of the national brain computer interface industry. It systematically elaborates on the deep integration path and ethical boundaries of brain computer interfaces with health and intelligence, and defines the integration paradigm of the next generation of industrial ecology, demonstrating China's ideological leadership in the development of the global brain computer interface industry.
At the event, the "Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Greater Bay Area Brain Science and Central Nervous Disease AI Innovation Alliance" was officially established. The alliance is led by Green Leaf Life Science Group and Shenzhen Brain Science Technology Industry Innovation Center, jointly initiated by nearly 20 industry, academia, and research institutions such as Peking University Sixth Hospital and Shanghai Mental Health Center. Its aim is to empower basic research, disease diagnosis, drug development, and clinical translation in the fields of neuroscience and central nervous system diseases, focusing on three major industrial directions: drug innovation for neurological diseases, brain computer interfaces, AI brain health, and medical care. It aims to create a full chain innovation platform for "basic research technology development industrial application" in the fields of neuroscience and central nervous system diseases.
It is reported that the alliance will fully leverage the unique advantages of the Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Greater Bay Area in artificial intelligence, financial capital, market environment, institutional innovation, and international integration, collaborate with multiple entities such as industry, academia, research, and industry regulation, and strive to build the Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Greater Bay Area into an innovative hub for intelligent diagnosis and treatment in the fields of neuroscience and central nervous system diseases, a demonstration center for brain health and neurological rehabilitation technology in the Asia Pacific region, and the preferred hub for AI technology transformation in the global neuroscience field, serving social needs.
At the same time, the Brain Science Industry Fund with a total scale of 1.16 billion yuan and the first batch of high-quality projects to be invested signed on-site. With the support of the brain industry policies of Shenzhen and Guangming Science City, the "Shenzhen Zhongjin Brain Science and Brain like Intelligent Industry Private Equity Investment Fund" and the "Shenzhen Blue Ocean Intelligent Brain Seed Fund" have both landed, building a technology and financial support system covering early "sowing" to growth "irrigation", bringing "super vitality" to the brain science and brain computer interface industry, effectively playing the driving role of government investment, and stimulating the vitality of private investment.
