29 Aug, 2025

Registration Date: September 5, 2025

Registration Authority: Licensing Section, Hong Kong Police Force

Registration Reference Number: REF.CP/LIC/SO/19/66725

Continuation of Predecessor: The International Alliance for Regional Innovation and Standardization (IARIS) officially evolved from the "Regional Innovation and Standardization Cooperation Organization" (RISCO), which was inaugurated at the 2024 World Frontier Science and Technology Conference in Beijing. As the predecessor of the Alliance, RISCO laid a one-year foundation of international cooperation and standardization work.

Official Name of the Alliance: International Alliance for Regional Innovation and Standardization (IARIS)

Initial Scale: Upon its establishment, the Alliance's member institutions cover 52 countries and regions worldwide, comprising a total of 78 member units. These include international organizations, standardization bodies, research institutes, and industry representatives from various fields, fully demonstrating the Alliance's broad international representation and cross-sectoral cooperative advantages.

Key Background: The official registration of the Alliance marks the upgrade of RISCO – initiated by over 40 international institutions – from a regional cooperation initiative to an international non-governmental organization (INGO) with independent legal personality. Following its successful registration, the Alliance will leverage Hong Kong's unique strengths as an international financial and technological innovation hub to further promote regional innovation synergy and standardization cooperation on a global scale, providing institutional safeguards for building an open and shared international technology standards community.
